Responsible contact for data questions: info@onejewishstep.org

One Jewish Step treats user data with care. This page explains what data may be processed while using the site, why it is needed, where it may be stored and how to contact us with questions about access, correction or deletion.

One Jewish Step is a commercial educational online platform. The site helps the user start and save a personal route, work with materials, the journal and the continuation of the path. Data is used to run the product, save the user’s path, provide support, improve the service and communicate with the user within the scope of the project.

What data may be processed

While using the site, data the user enters and technical data needed to run the service may be processed.

Such data may include:

  • name or display name;
  • email;
  • account data;
  • selected topic or route;
  • onboarding answers;
  • current material or current step;
  • progress status;
  • journal entries;
  • saved path data;
  • technical information about the browser, device, language, page and time of action;
  • data from messages sent by email, WhatsApp or contact forms.

The user decides what to write in the journal. Please do not place information in the journal that you do not want to be stored on the platform.

Operator and data controller

Project operator and data controller: Alexander Livshits, Israel.

One Jewish Step operates as a commercial project under the current עוסק פטור / osek patur status.

For questions about data, access, correction, deletion, payments or legal wording, contact us by email: [info@onejewishstep.org](mailto:info@onejewishstep.org).

Data stored on the user’s device

Some data may be stored in the user’s browser. This helps continue the path on the same device and supports the site for users without an account.

Such data may include the selected topic, progress state, local entries, route settings and technical interface data.

Local data can be cleared through the browser settings. After clearing, the site may open the path as if for a new user.

Cookies, localStorage and analytics

The site uses necessary browser data, including localStorage, to save the path on this device, support the interface and keep selected settings.

Google Analytics is used only after the user gives consent. Analytics helps us understand which pages and actions are used, where users encounter difficulties and which parts of the product need improvement.

If the user chooses necessary data only, Google Analytics must not run on this device.

The choice is saved in the browser. It can be changed later through browser settings by clearing site data, or by contacting us at info@onejewishstep.org.

Account and saved path

If the user creates an account or opens a saved path, One Jewish Step may store data linked to the email, name, current route, progress, journal and continuation of the path.

This data is needed so the user can return to the path from another device or later, see saved entries, continue from the right place and use the features of a personal path.

Where data may be stored

Core data for the account, saved path, progress and journal may be stored in Supabase, which is used as the technical infrastructure for authentication and storage of product data.

Some technical or operational data may be stored in the user’s browser.

In specific operational scenarios, One Jewish Step may use Google Apps Script, Google Sheets or other Google services to handle messages, leads, partnership inquiries, technical working sheets or internal operational tasks.

We may also use technical hosting, analytics, support, security and communication services needed for the site to operate.

Why data is used

Data is used to run the site, save the route, open a saved path, keep the journal, show progress, support the user, handle inquiries, improve the product, analyze how the site works and develop One Jewish Step.

We do not sell personal data to advertisers.

Analytics and technical events

The site may record technical product events, including page use, clicks and progress through the route. This helps us understand which parts of the product work, where users encounter difficulties and which improvements are needed.

External analytics through Google Analytics runs only after the user gives consent. If the user chooses necessary data only, events must not be sent to Google Analytics.

Analytics data is used to develop the product and is not intended for the sale of personal data to third parties.

Email and messages

One Jewish Step may send service messages related to the account, saved path, security, technical changes, replies to inquiries or important information about site operation.

When a user leaves an email address in a form for contacting the project or saving the context of the path, providing the email address is voluntary. If the user does not leave an email address, they may continue using the open parts of the site, but One Jewish Step may not be able to contact them about that inquiry or save the inquiry context in the project working table.

Marketing or commercial messages, such as project news, offers of guidance, product updates or paid options, should be sent only with the user's separate consent and with the ability to opt out of further messages.

If the user no longer wishes to receive such messages, they can contact us by email: [info@onejewishstep.org](mailto:info@onejewishstep.org).

Payments

At the current stage, full online checkout through Grow is not connected. The site may show commercial participation formats, email inquiries and bank transfer details for partnership payments.

If a user or partner contacts us about participation, partnership or payment, we may process contact details, correspondence, the selected format, amount, payment reference and data needed to reconcile the payment.

The project operator is registered in Israel as עוסק פטור / osek patur. Under the current status, the project does not collect VAT / מע״מ and does not issue a tax invoice / חשבונית מס. Payment confirmation and receipt / קבלה are handled according to the applicable tax status of the project.

One Jewish Step does not store full bank card details. After an external payment provider is connected, payment data should be processed by that provider.

Partner and sponsor data

If an organization, company or individual partner contacts One Jewish Step about partnership, sponsorship or collaboration, we may store contact details, business correspondence, the format under discussion, the chosen direction and information needed for further communication.

This data is used to organize collaboration, prepare materials, run the project and stay in touch with the partner.

Access, correction and deletion

The user can contact us to request information about data linked to their email, correct or update data and request the deletion of data linked to a saved path.

To process such a request, please specify the email that was linked to the path or the inquiry.

In some cases, part of the information may be retained where this is necessary for security, technical diagnostics, fulfilment of obligations, accounting or compliance with applicable legal requirements.

For requests, please use email: info@onejewishstep.org.

Security

We use reasonable organizational and technical measures to protect data within the current stage of the product.

Access to data is limited to people and services that need this data to run One Jewish Step, support users, ensure security, work with analytics or develop the product.

Children and minors

One Jewish Step is not intended for independent use by children without the involvement of parents or legal guardians.

If you believe a child has shared personal data with us without the consent of a parent or legal guardian, please contact us by email: info@onejewishstep.org.
